When the Enemy Attacks Your Intimacy

Sometimes the strongest leaders in the room are carrying the heaviest burdens in private.

The cash flow is tight.

The relationship is strained.

The decision is difficult.

Everyone expects you to be strong.

But what if the greatest threat to your leadership isn't the weight you're carrying?

What if it's the attack you don't recognize?

During a recent time of silent, contemplative prayer, I sensed the Lord reminding me of something sobering:

The enemy doesn't always attack your assignment directly. Sometimes he attacks your intimacy with the One who gave you the assignment.

Judges 16:20 says:

“But he did not know that the Lord had left him.”

Samson still had a little strength.

He still had influence.

But he had lost awareness of God's presence.

That's an operational leak.

And it can happen to Kingdom leaders too.

We can become so busy building the business, serving people, solving problems, and carrying responsibility that we slowly stop drawing near to Christ.

Not because we stopped believing.

Because we stopped abiding.

I sensed the Lord reminding me:

“What you prioritize, you draw near to over and over again.”

That forced me to ask:

What am I drawing near to?

My business?

My responsibilities?

My problems?

My ambitions?

Or Jesus?

Because what we continually draw near to shapes who we become.

WARFARE

The enemy wants to disrupt your intimacy because intimacy strengthens everything else.

When you draw near to Christ, you remember:

Whose you are. Who you are becoming. What you've been called to steward.

That's why warfare isn't just about protecting your business.

It's about protecting your relationship with God so you can faithfully fulfill your assignment.

Prayer isn't an escape from leadership.

Prayer is the foundation of courageous leadership.

Jesus said:

“Pray always and not give up.” — Luke 18:1

So perhaps full capacity isn't about doing more.

Perhaps it's about becoming fully available to God so we can faithfully steward what He has entrusted to us.

Today, ask yourself:

What is competing with my intimacy with Christ?

Don't let the assignment replace the relationship.

Draw near. Abide. Pray. Lead from His presence.

Because sometimes the greatest breakthrough doesn't begin with a better business strategy.

It begins with a leader who refuses to stop praying.
