Entrepreneurship and the Kingdom: Do They Belong Together?

Last month, Latondra and I had the joy of serving a client at their Technology & Sales Summit. They operate in the payments and point-of-sale space — and they are truly one of the most excellent and enjoyable teams we’ve worked with.

One of our assignments was delivering a keynote on Entrepreneurship and the Kingdom.

And it raised a question many leaders quietly wrestle with:

  • Does the Kingdom of God actually have anything to do with business?

  • Can it help you clarify your message, attract aligned clients, and grow steady revenue?

  • Or are faith and business meant to stay in separate lanes?

The Real Tension Leaders Feel

Many leaders love God — and love building.

But they feel the tension.

They want to honor Him. They also need to lead teams, close deals, and generate sustainable revenue.

So they find themselves:

  • Tired and burned out

  • Unclear about their message

  • Frustrated by inconsistent growth

  • Unsure how to integrate faith without sounding forced or “religious”

Without clarity on what the Kingdom of God actually is, it’s nearly impossible to see how it applies to entrepreneurship.

What the Kingdom of God Is — and Is Not

The Kingdom of God is wherever God’s will is being done.

We see this clearly in the life and leadership of Jesus.

The Kingdom is not merely a label like “Christian.” It is not a democracy where we vote on the will of the people. It is not confined to church buildings or spiritual language.

When God’s will is being done in your leadership, your culture, your decisions, and your messaging — His Kingdom is present in your business.

Sometimes clarity comes from contrast:

  • It is not using God to advance our own agenda.

  • It is not adding spiritual language to worldly strategy.

  • It is not separating Sunday worship from Monday execution.

It is alignment.

Why Alignment Changes Everything

Proverbs 15:23 reminds us:

“Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time.”

In business:

  • The right thing at the right time creates momentum.

  • The wrong thing at the wrong time creates damage.

  • The right thing at the wrong time creates resistance.

So how do you consistently say the right thing at the right time?

How do you access wisdom, clarity, and favor so your message lands and your leadership bears fruit?

By living and leading according to God’s design — personally and organizationally.

Alignment Before Acceleration

Before we see an increase of the Kingdom in the marketplace, we must first understand:

  1. What the Kingdom of God truly is.

  2. What it looks like in practical leadership and entrepreneurship.

  3. How to align our unique design with His will.

When you submit your leadership and business to God’s will — not using Him for your purposes, but aligning with His — you begin operating from strength He supplies, not burnout you manufacture.

And that changes everything:

  • Clearer messaging

  • Stronger client alignment

  • Steadier revenue

  • Sustainable capacity
